This year too, ŠAF participated in the Croatian Children’s Film Festival. Every year the festival is held in a different city, and this, the 56th festival, took place in Bol on the island of Brač, in the movie theatre Mediteran. We participated with a total of 5 films in the categories workshop and animated films. The films were judged by an international jury of children, consisting of children from Italy, Slovenia and Croatia, and an expert jury featuring pedagogue,
journalist and publicist Maja Flego, now a counsellor in the Office of the children’s Ombudsperson, director of photography and filmmaker Boris Poljak and graduate graphic designer and author of animated films, Petar Zlonoga. During the 4 days of the festival, we watched 89 films of different themes and techniques made by young filmmakers and animators from Croatia. The effort and hard work of our ŠAF members paid off, and with the film “Time flies / Vrijeme leti” we got the first prize from the expert jury in the category of animated films! Among our participating films were also “Brdo / Mountain” and “U potrazi za srećom / Searching for happiness” in the category of animated film, and “Zdravko Dren / Mr. Healthy” and “Bojastični Vilko / Vilko the Color-tastic“ in the category of workshop films. Congratulations to all the winners, but especially to our small animators!
